HOW THE UNSEEN IS SEEN

“By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11:3 NASB

Everything that can be seen by the physical, human eye is really only a manifestation of the unseen. What a mind-blowing thing to think about. We are instructed in the scriptures to walk by faith and not by sight because what is seen is only temporary but the unseen things are eternal.

The Apostle Paul learned to walk by the Spirit of God in the unseen and longed for others to do the same. He wrote to the Ephesians “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling…” Paul understood that it would take revelation from God to enable them to “see the unseen” but it didn’t prevent him from continuing to tell them. I too pray that we might all come to see the truth about who God is and who we are in Christ. Until then I will gladly remind any who are willing to hear in the hopes that God might grant them eyes to see.

If you continue to read a few more verses, in the first chapter of Ephesians, you will discover that believers in Christ are actually an expression of Christ. Paul says, “God made Jesus head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” So many times we hear expressions such as “Your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit” or we are the “body of Christ”, but are we really hearing it? This is telling us that we are the body of Christ! We are the means by which Christ is expressed in the world. Christ is living his life in and through those that have placed their faith in him and his work on the cross. What an amazing thing to see!

  1. yea we are the MEANS by which CHRIST is expressed out to other humans–its not us expressing him by us but him expressing himself using us as the MEANS.
