It seems there is a never ending search for Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti, Skunk monkey or any other name one might come up with today. There is actually a television show now that follows a team around the country on the hunt for Sasquatch. I’m not sure about these particular folks on the Sasquatch show, but I think some of the interest is to prove evolution. If scientist could just come up with the so called “missing link” they think they could prove we evolved from a lower life form. Of course if there was proof we have evolved from apes, or the like, then they hope to prove that maybe God doesn’t exist.
I for one am amazed at the amount of time, money and effort that is put into searching for some half man half ape creature when there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that it even exists. When there are a number of eye witnesses to a risen Lord Jesus Christ; not to mention the thousands upon thousands of changed lives of believers down through the centuries. Most of the written accounts of Jesus’ life, death, burial and resurrection were documented within 50 to 100 years after the events. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15 that there were upwards to 500 people that were still alive that witnessed seeing Jesus alive after his death. He invited the reader to go and interview any of them they would like. In 1st John, John wrote “That which was from the beginning, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us)”
The Bible says “The fool has said in his heart there is no God.” It says, “In his heart” rather than head for a reason. The letter to the Romans tells us, “That which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God has shown it to them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” There is no valid intellectual reason to not believe there is a God. It is a heart issue because people don’t want to believe in a God. They want to do what they want to do and not have anyone to answer to. We all know deep down there is a God, and when we embrace that we know there will have to be a change in the way we live. Our lives will have to be governed according to his standard rather than our own. That is the real reason “The fool has said in his heart there is no God.”
