Extra, extra read all about it! The answer sought for ages and ages has now been revealed. Once you read this you will be amazed how much your life will change. You will be the envy of all your friends. People will ask you “What happened to you?” “How can I obtain what you have?”
You’ve tried the “10 steps to a happier you.” You’ve tried the “27 ways to a peaceful life.” What about that latest and greatest book “50 ways to live life more successfully?” Okay I’m only joking; at least I think I am. I really have never heard of these titles for books; although it wouldn’t surprise me if they did exist. While there is a self-help book being published every 57 seconds (sarcasm); I wonder how many people are really helped. Even though I am only being sarcastic it does seem there is a new book for a diet, positive thinking, marriage or child rearing every time you turn around. My question is if these methods, or insights, truly worked why would there be a new one out the next year?
In Christian circles it seems there is always someone saying, “How do I know what God’s will is for me?” “How do I know what he wants me to do with my life?” What about this job, that house, this wife or car etc.? So many questions and so few real answers, huh?
Without further adieu let me just tell you the great news. I have found out what God’s will is. No, really I know what God’s will is. It is found in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and reads as follows “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Oh my! Did you see that? “THIS IS GOD’S WILL FOR YOU.” You mean it is God’s will that we rejoice, stay in touch with him and be thankful? Isn’t that great? I’m going to pray that the rejoicing starts right now! Thank you Jesus!
If we are asking and not hearing maybe he is saying, “You are free to do what you want to in this situation.” Maybe he is okay with what you want in this circumstance because the two of you are one. The Bible tells us “He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit.” Could it be true that maybe, just maybe our will does become his will? If you are someone truly seeking God your wants are his wants. In Psalm 37 we find this, “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Finally just let me say this; if you make yourself available to God I am convinced he will be sure to reveal his will to you.
